Dauphin Bible Camp Site, 18 km Southeast of Dauphin

Make your mark on the mission to end MS, not on the environment.
What is the Parkland Eco Challenge?
The Parkland Eco Challenge is an expansion of Manitoba’s largest fundraising event, the Manitoba Lotteries MS Walk. The Eco Challenge encourages Walkers of all skill levels from across the Parkland to come together and step off the pavement onto one of two trails alongside Riding Mountain National Park.
Where does it start and finish?
Dauphin Bible Camp will be the proud host site for the Eco Challenge. Located 18km southeast of Dauphin on the northern slope of Riding Mountain National Park, it is an accessible venue with many elements such as an indoor hall as well as outdoor game areas and nature trails making it a unique and ideal site for the Parkland Eco Challenge.
Why is it an “Eco” Challenge?
The foundation of the Eco Challenge is to host an event which is conscious of the effects of fundraising events on the environment. We will strive to reduce waste, use environmentally friendly products and minimize the environmental impact we have before, during and after the event. This will include eliminating plastic water bottles and all other non-recyclable, washable or biodegradable service items. As well, we encourage participants to use the online registration & fundraising system and sign up to receive all event news through email to minimize the use of print material.
Do I have to be an experienced Walker to do the Challenge?
No. There will be two trail options at the Dauphin Bible Camp site. The first will be approximately 5 kilometers in length and designed for families and less vigorous Walkers. The second will be a more challenging route of approximately 17 kilometers. As an alternative, for those who desire a more traditional or fully accessible path, the Dauphin Clinic Pharmacy Walking Track will be available for those who request a pass and we will provide shuttle transport to the Camp for lunch and festivities that will follow.
Be a part of the movement in your community.
You don’t have to be from Dauphin to participant in the Parkland Eco Challenge. We want to see as many communities as possible come together as champions for individuals living with multiple sclerosis.
What is TeamMS?
TeamMS is a complimentary program created to enhance the experience of MS Society events such as the MS Walk. Teams range in size from four dedicated friends who walk to represent someone living with MS, to dozens of co-workers who want to make a difference in the community. The best teams are ones with members who compliment each other’s strengths and work together to ensure you are meeting your fundraising goals and getting the most out of the event experience.
Teams also receive exclusive access to a variety of recruitment and fundraising incentives helping to motivate team members and increase your success.
How do we create a team?
Becoming a team is simple. All you need is a minimum of four people who want to work together to directly inspire and encourage one another. Choose a team captain and a team name and you’re done! If you currently participate with friends and family, but you are registered as individuals, please contact Stacy at stacy.wieb@mssociety.ca or (204) 622-2941 and register as a team.
For more information on the TeamMS program, benefits of joining a team and team resources visit our TeamMS site.
