Advocacy and Government Relations

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (Atlantic Division) works to ensure that people affected by MS have the opportunity to participate fully in all aspects of life.

  • Individual advocacy involves working with people with multiple sclerosis or their care partners in the community to help them obtain needed services and maximize their quality of life.
  • Government Relations, on the other hand, involves activities that endeavour to change government policies, private industry practices and public attitudes in ways that will benefit people with MS. Get involved in our Government Relations initiatives today!

How To Advocate for Yourself

Individual advocacy
includes efforts aimed at supporting, empowering or acting on behalf of an individual. Sometimes viewed as "going to bat" for a person, individual advocacy helps where one feels he/she has not been treated as he/she should have been.
