Leadership Giving

Chuck Ford

Gordon Moore(left), Senior Partner at KPMG, with Charles Ford (right), Chair of the Board of Directors, announces
KPMG's $100,000 gift to the
endMS Campaign.

As an organization that is 96% self-funded, we rely entirely on our corporate and community supporters to ensure we can help those in need.

Every dollar of support means that someone affected by MS will have a better quality of life and each contribution brings us closer to the cure.

Are you interested in becoming a supporter of the MS Society of Canada, Atlantic Division? We’d like to introduce to you to a few ways you can leave your legacy and help end MS. Please contact Joanna Hamilton by email at joanna.hamilton@mssociety.ca or by phone at 1-800-268-7582.

Planned Giving

In uncertain economic times, legacy gifts are a simple and inexpensive way to make a lasting contribution to the fight against MS.  There are many different options and we would like to help you make the best personal choice.

Some planned gifts, such as bequests, do not require any funding during your lifetime and others, such as gifts of securities, can help eliminate capital gain tax.

Types of Planned Gifts kid
  • Wills and Bequests
  • Gifts of Life Insurance
  • Gifts of Shares and Securities
  • Charitable Gift Annuities
  • Gifts of Residual Interest
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts
  • Gifts of Real Estate
  • RRSPs or RRIFs

However you choose to leave your legacy, please know that your gift will give those living with MS fuller and healthier lives while also funding research to find a cure.

If you would like your planned gift to support local services, please include the Atlantic Division in your legal documentation.

The endMS Campaign

Over the last few decades, there have been incredible advances in the knowledge and treatment of MS. Leading researchers are no longer asking if the cure will be found but rather when.

However, this small group of leading researchers is retiring and a limited number of young scientists are making multiple sclerosis their professional focus.

Progress towards further discovery is at risk.

To address this urgent need, the Multiple Sclerosis Society has launched Canada’s first ever MS capital campaign.

This bold new movement called endMS will raise $60 million over the next five years to recruit, train, support and retain the next generation of MS researchers in Canada.

It will also revolutionize the way the medical community collaborates and accelerate the pace of research activities to find a cure and improved treatments in the shortest possible time.
